What Is the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
The EAP is a network of services designed to assist employees and their eligible family members to cope with personal issues. This resource provides professional, confidential assistance to employees and their family members who are experiencing problems that may affect their general well-being or job performance. The services are voluntary, confidential, and free of charge. The EAP network is staffed with licensed, professional counselors. - Emotional concerns
- Family relationships or marital problems
- Financial or legal concerns

- Other personal problems
What Are the Work/Life Programs?
The Work/Life Programs help employees and their family members to better manage caregiving responsibilities. These services provide an opportunity to discuss and resolve child care or elder care concerns with an experienced counselor. The program is designed to save time, energy, and worry by offering quick, easy access to the following service components:
- Experienced counselors to answer your questions, help define your family's needs, and provide information about caregiving options and strategies.
- Checklists, information sheets, booklets, and other educational materials.
- Referrals to services compatible with your family's needs. Counselors will conduct a customized search for information covering a wide range of community resources, such as child care centers, family day care homes, adoption agencies, camps, elder law attorneys, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care providers.
- Resources for new parents, information about early childhood development and child behavior, assistance with adoption, materials on children and adults with special needs, care options, active aging, caring for the caregiver, and tips for balancing work and family.
When Should I Use the Work/Life or EAP Programs?
Personal concerns may be resolved successfully when they are identified and addressed early. We encourage you and your family members to use the Employee Assistance and Work/Life Programs. Here are some signs to watch for:
- You spend much of your day worrying about a particular problem.
